GHANAIAN HEALTHCARE COMMUNITY LEEDS

We Care, Support & Empower

Our Vision

The organisation has a mission to enhance the well-being of its members, as well as their families and friends residing in both the UK and Ghana. It strives to support the professional development, career growth, and retirement of its members. In addition, the organisation aims to promote Ghanaian culture and traditions among the Diaspora through community activities held in both countries. The organisation intends to purchase and manage a community centre, which will be used for charitable purposes and other welfare groups within the Diaspora. Last but not least, the organisation collaborates with other community welfare groups in the UK and Ghana to support education, health promotion, and industry initiatives.

Our Values

We firmly believe in maintaining a positive and optimistic outlook in all of our conversations and discussions. Our relationships are built on dependability, high commitment, and consistency. We strive to be open-minded, respectful of individual rights, honest, creative, and loyal in all of our endeavours. We are accountable to our members, donors, sponsors, and statutory bodies. We take pride in our ability to serve and care for all those in our community, with honesty and diligence.

The Ghana Healthcare Community Leeds is a vibrant and diverse community of healthcare professionals who work and reside in the United Kingdom. The community comprises doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, and health visitors of Ghanaian origin who are currently working in the NHS. It is a platform that promotes its members’ professional development and welfare.

The organisation is committed to fostering a sense of belonging among its members by creating opportunities for them to connect, network, and engage in community work. The organisation recognises the importance of community work and encourages its members to participate actively in community-based programs and initiatives.

Members of the organisation work in various healthcare specialities, including nursing, management, and education, and they work in the statutory, voluntary, or private sectors.

A significant proportion of the organisation’s members are based in other cities throughout the UK. Members based in different towns participate in community work through online platforms and attend community events when they are held on a selected date. The Organisation is open to new members, and healthcare professionals of Ghanaian origin who currently work in the NHS are encouraged to join.
